Arashiyama, located in Ukyo-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, is a famous tourist destination known for its Togetsukyo Bridge over the Katsura River and its bamboo groves. Arashiyama offers a variety of seasonal scenes: cherry blossoms in spring, fresh greenery in summer, autumn leaves in fall, and snow in winter.

Arashiyama originally flourished as a vacation home for aristocrats during the Heian period (794-1192), and it still retains its name as one of Kyoto’s most famous scenic spots.
