Tsukui Lake Shiroyama Park is a nature-rich park adjacent to Lake Tsukui in Sagamihara City, Kanagawa Prefecture, known as a cherry blossom viewing spot. The park has a hiking trail that attracts many visitors, especially during the cherry blossom season in spring and the fall foliage season.

About Tsukui Lake Shiroyama Park

Lake Tsukui, which is mentioned in the park’s name, is an artificial dammed lake created by the Shiroyama Dam, which dams up the waters of the Sagami River.

“Shiroyama” is the Japanese word for a mountain where a castle once stood, and Tsukui Castle once stood where Tsukui Lake Shiroyama Park is located.

Water Garden

The Water Garden is a grassy plaza with a fountain and an artificial waterfall.
This area overlooks Lake Tsukui and Shiroyama Mountain on the other side of the lake, providing an especially emotional view during the cherry blossom season.

On Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, Megu Gelato is open for authentic Italian gelato using local ingredients.

Flower Garden

Flower Garden has a Lake Tsukui Tourism Center, which sells local vegetables and specialty products.
And across the road from the Lake Tsukui Tourism Center, there is a entrance of the hiking course. At the the hiking course, there is an area where cherry trees are intensively planted, allowing visitors to enjoy the seasonal beauty of the area during the spring season.

This area is a 20-minute walk along the hiking trail from the Flower Garden area.
In Negoya Area, there is a park office with park guidebooks and pamphlets, playground equipment, and an observation deck.
In this area, ruins of Tsukui Castle can be seen in various places.
